“Unlike all the other art forms, film is able to seize and render the passage of time, to stop it, almost to possess it in infinity. I’d say that film is the sculpting of time.”
– Andrei Tarkovsky
Project objective ..............................................Everything I see is with an eye towards my industry of commercial production. As an art director, I am always looking for imagery that will help me to tell a story or convey an idea quickly by defining a mood, an emotion or a feeling. This is represented in many varied visual notes. These notes are displayed in a myriad of ways, from the subtitles of texture, tone and temperature of a wall surface or fabric, to the style and details of wardrobe. From the minutia of a few petals at the base of a flower arraignment, or the slight shifting of a stack of books, to the larger more obvious details of era, environment, character and purpose. It’s a never-ending journey of discovery. Transferring all theses notes into a cohesive and compelling visual story is the essence of design.
